Job Description:

 

Cleans teeth and examines oral areas as well as head and neck for signs of oral disease.  May educate patients on oral hygiene, take and develop x-rays, or apply fluoride or sealants.  Works as part of a care team that practices evidenced based medicine in a Patient Centered Medical Home model of care.

  • Provide general and comprehensive dental hygiene services and supervise dental and clinical staff.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical dental policies and procedures. 
  • Diagnose and evaluate dental conditions within scope of practice and maintaining accurate dental records to support diagnose/evaluation. 
  • Interpret x-rays and treat mouth diseases.  Provide treatment as needed.
  • Perform emergency evaluation on patients to reduce or eliminate pain.  Assess treatment options and agree on treatment plan with patients.
  • Instruct/educate patients in oral hygiene and dental care.
  • Train and evaluate assigned dental staff.
