Job Description:

Summary
Responsible for the daily organization and operation of the overall operations of the Danville Dental office. Insures adequate staffing and training of staff as well as smoothness of patient flow.


Education and/or experience
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate);
• Previous dental front desk experience
• Leadership experience

Duties
• Performs front desk duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, entering patient information into eCW, taking payments, sending and receiving necessary faxes, and other duties required.
• Assigns staff to verify insurance coverage and ensures that this is occurring for each patient daily.
• Monitors patient insurances and obtains benefits information.
• Sends and receives prior authorizations for patient insurance.
• Communicates with patients that have questions or concerns regarding their insurance, payments, or treatment.
• Oversees front desk staff to ensure that the office is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Seeks to develop processes to increase efficiency and teamwork.
• Reports deficiencies to the Dental Director and works with the director to make improvements where needed.
• Handles any incoming patient complaints regarding billing, service, or care.
• Answers questions the patient has and reports complaints to staff dentist or Dental Director when necessary.
• Retains required documentation of complaints.
• Discusses treatment options, provides information on procedures and time lengths involved, discusses financial arrangements and determines each patient’s personal plan of action, schedules patient back for treatment, verifies procedures completed by doctor are entered in patient ledger, creates insurance claims if necessary, and performs adjustments on patients who are on a sliding scale. • Ensures timesheets are completed at the end of the pay period along with determining any necessary time punch corrections and vacation/sick time requests.
• Monitors and orders front office supplies and equipment.
• Handles correspondence between dentists and/or hygienists and other medical professionals regarding medical clearances that may be required prior to dental treatment, etc.
• Ensures patient records are recent and updated as necessary.
